David Summer holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from
Lowell University.
He has worked as a music teacher in several Massachusetts public schools including
Natick and
Holliston where he taught Instrumental Music, Band, Orchestra and Elementary Classroom Music.
He also taught Music Theatre, Music Theory and Band for five years at
Marian High School in Framingham, MA.
David has played in many different types of ensembles including big bands, jazz ensembles, function bands, brass ensembles and chamber groups. He now specializes in performing as a soloist for
church services.
David is also very involved in music technology. He produces his own
recordings, in his home recording studio, covering a wide range of material from classical to jazz, including his own compositions and a weekly podcast. He is the
author of several articles on audio recording and other aspects of music technology.
In addition to his music degree, David also holds a
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
He uses this to help him run a business called
SummerSound. SummerSound specializes in helping small businesses design, develop and maintain their websites, as well as setup and maintain their podcast initiatives.
